PC Access Flyer Reference Guide

for PC Access Flyer 2.00.025

Display Tab: Enable Assistant Help

The Enable Assistant help check box appears in the Flyer Assistant Help group on the Setup | Display tab.

The Enable Assistant help check box controls PC Access Flyer's animated help character. If you check the Enable Assistant help check box, PC Access Flyer will display an animated help character when you are idle on any window in PC Access Flyer.

Here is how it works:

· If you open a window in PC Access Flyer and you do not click your mouse or press a key on your keyboard, PC Access Flyer will display its animated help character. PC Access Flyer waits for the amount of time you or PC Access Flyer specified in the Assistant help delay time spin control before displaying the animated help character. For example, if the Assistant help delay time spin control displays 60, you need to wait 60 seconds before PC Access Flyer will display its animated help character.

· When PC Access Flyer displays its animated character, you can right-click on it to display a pop-up menu with these options:

¨ Hide: click Hide to temporarily close the animated help character in your current PC Access Flyer session. The next time you run PC Access Flyer the animated help character will return.

¨ Disable: click Disable to permanently disable the animated help character. If you click Disable, PC Access Flyer unchecks the Enable Assistant help check box. If you would like PC Access Flyer to display the animated help character, you can manually check the Enable Assistant help check box.

· The animated help character describes the functions of the fields, check boxes, and buttons on the window.

If the Enable Assistant help check box is gray (unselectable), your version of Windows may not have the components it needs to run PC Access Flyer's animated help character, or you may not have the .DLL files PC Access Flyer needs to run its animated help character. Here are the steps you can take to verify and/or get the components or .DLL files:

  1. Make sure your PC Access Flyer executable directory contains at least one of the following files:

    ¨ FlyAst1.DLL

    ¨ FlyAst3.DLL

  2. If your PC Access Flyer executable directory does not contain at least one of the above files, you can install the above files from executable directory does contain at least one of the above files, see step 3 for instructions on installing Microsoft's Agent files.

  3. If your PC Access Flyer program directory contains at least one of the FlyAst1.DLL or FlyAst3.DLL files and the Enable Assistant help check box is gray (unselectable), you need to install Microsoft's Agent files. You can install Microsoft's Agent files from the PC Access Flyer CD-ROM.

If you completed the above steps and the Enable Assistant help check box is still gray (unselectable), please complete the PC Access Flyer 2.00 Problem Report form:
